Chasing
Pegasus at Mt Martha House
The Mail
18 December, 2003
Chasing Pegasus, a play
by writer and actor, Sally McLean, is a culmination of a year
of dramatic education of peninsula thesbians.
Ms McLean teaches weekly
acting classes out of Mount Martha Community Contact, and brought
successful Melbourne actor Alan Fletcher in to discuss the profession
on December 3.
"From the students
perspective, they got a clearer insight into the realities of
the industry, and how they have to multi-skill," she said.
"They learned how it is necessary to be able to work in
more than one medium."
Written specifically for
the students to perform, Chasing Pegasus carries a message of
hope. "Its about having dreams, having goals, and not giving
up - which ties in nicely with being an actor!", Ms McLean
said.
She said the students
only had 2.5 hours per week, over nine weeks to rehearse the
play.
"They're brilliant.
I'm so proud of them," Ms McLean said.
"They've shown an
incredible amount of professionalism, and they teach me as much
as I teach them."
The workshop performance
of Chasing Pegasus will be performed at Mt Martha House, crn
The Esplanade and Dominion Road, Mt Martha on Friday, December
19 at 7.30pm.
